Lorina McLaughlin goes Italian at Brand Hatch
Lorina McLaughlin’s latest Formula One demo will have a distinct Italian flavour this weekend as she takes to the track at Festival Italia this weekend.
Festival Italia will be held at Brands Hatch on August 18th and Lorina’s demo laps in her Benetton B192 will run alongside an all-Italian race programme and a celebration of all things Italian around the circuit.
The ex-Michael Schumacher Benetton was, although built in Britain, sponsored by the famous Benetton clothing brand and registered as an Italian team. This Benetton was the first to combine the talents of Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne and of course Michael Schumacher who became the “Italian Dream Team” when they all went to Italy and became stars of the most Italian of racing teams – the Scuderia Ferrari. For many years this combo dominated Formula 1 in a way seldom seen before, or
Lorina is a fan of Italian cars and a Ferrari 550 Maranello has pride of place in her personal garage. She has enjoyed many supercar events this summer and this will be a welcome return to on-track action for her.
The FORCE will be running the F1 demo from 11:50 to 12:05, then later on from 15:50 to 16:05. Anyone wanting to meet Lorina on Sunday should head down to pit garage number 7, where the Benetton will be. Make sure to say hello to the other FORCE drivers who will be next door too!
Thanks to David Trigg of Premier GT for his support in bringing the Benetton to Brands
