The British Motorsports Marshals Club (BMMC) is run entirely by volunteers, for volunteers. Its members give their time and expertise at every level of motorsport across the UK — from grassroots events and club racing through to national championships and Formula 1. These dedicated individuals play a vital role in ensuring motorsport can take place safely and smoothly.
Thankfully, safety standards in motorsport have improved significantly since the early days when the Doghouse Owners’ Club was founded. However, despite advances in technology and regulation, motorsport simply could not go ahead without the commitment, professionalism, and vigilance of trained marshals. Often working long hours in challenging conditions, marshals are at the heart of every race meeting, helping to protect drivers, officials, and spectators alike.
Recognising the importance of this work, The Doghouse Owners’ Club (WMRAC) is proud to support the BMMC through funding for recruitment and training initiatives. This support helps ensure that new generations of marshals are encouraged into the sport and provided with the skills and knowledge required to carry out their roles safely and confidently.
As Nadine Lewis of the BMMC has said:
“The Doghouse (WMRAC) has generously provided funding for our recruitment and training activities,
and we are most grateful for this support.”
Through partnerships such as this, the Doghouse Owners’ Club continues its long‑standing commitment to supporting those who contribute so much to the motorsport community — helping to safeguard the future of the sport while staying true to its founding principles of friendship, support, and care.
From grassroots racing to Formula 1, marshals make motorsport possible. Find out more about the British Motorsports Marshals Club and how you can support or volunteer alongside those who keep our sport running safely.
