Logo2Welcome to The Women’s Motor Racing Associates Club | The Worlds Longest Standing Club For Ladies In Motorsport.

Foreword by Howden Ganley, former BRM and Williams Grand Prix driver, BRDC Vice President and ‘Honouree Dog’

“As the BRDC is the ‘Who’s Who’ of British Motorsport, so the WMRAC – known as the Doghouse Owner’s Club – is the equivalent on the other side of the gender fence, with many famous names still involved and with many so well connected within motorsport circles.”

The Club was founded on 7th February 1962 by a group of Grand Prix drivers’ wives and girlfriends. Under the chairmanship of Sheila Van Damm, the committee comprised of Mrs. Colin Chapman, Mrs. John Cooper, Mrs. Gregor Grant, Mrs. Graham Hill and Mrs. John Webb: the acting secretary was Miss Peggy Sandberg (Mrs. Peggy Rowe).

Following the 50th anniversary in 2012, the Club continues to go from strength to strength under the template of our founders, and dedication of the current Committee.

If you are a lady associated with Motorsport and would like to be considered to join the the WMRAC, please take the time to enjoy our website and fill in our membership form.
