The WMRAC is a Club that provides Friendship and Support for women involved in Motorsport. Working, volunteering and competing; we provide a network of social interaction, practical help, information and advice to support you along the way.
Founded in 1962 by wives of racing legends, bearing the names Chapman, Cooper, Grant, Hill and Web the Club set-out to provide a place to meet, on-going friendship and support, and in particular support to those in need in the event of tragedy, through Charitable support and the Benevolent Fund.
Our support network and membership is open to all women involved in motorsport through whatever discipline -including the roles of timekeeper, mechanic ,manager, engineer, driver, marshal, paramedic, doctor, tea maker and all-round supporter – encouraging husbands and ‘young guns’ to join the industry.
As an international Club we reach into all sectors of the industry and work with Racing Clubs and Teams from the grass roots of motorsport up to the heady heights of Formula One.
If you are a woman involved in motorsport, then please get in touch and join our network.
Every year, the WMRAC is proud to support three charities chosen, through an extensive selection process, from great causes nominated by our members. In 2021 our chosen Charity is Race Against Dementia.
Race Against Dementia, founded by Sir Jackie Stewart, raises and allocates funds to research in the race to find a prevention or treatment for dementia.
Helen Stewart, a founding member of the Doghouse, is now in a battle with dementia. Since her diagnosis, Helen is struggling with her memory, and the disease is taking hold of her mind and body. Her battle has inspired Sir Jackie to create Race Against Dementia. Read more
